The Canon PowerShot A460 is an entry level model succeeding A430 and offers more features at a very reasonable price. It boasts a 5 mega pixel image resolution, higher from A430’s 4 mega pixel resolution. The camera has a simple, bulky design, not flashy and sleek but is commendable for its pricing.

The model has an increased 4x zoom to offer and gives good images through its 5- point AiAF autofocusing system. The 5- point autofocusing divides the screen into 5 parts and delivers focusing on the objects closer to it. The images provide a good print out up to 8 x10 inches in size but above it the images do not fair well.

The camera just needs a pair of AA batteries, so a rechargeable set of NiMH AA batteries would be sound option to look at. It provides the movies mode but it does not match good quality standards. At 320 x 240 pixel resolution it provides a 30 frame per second smooth viewing and looks decent on the 1.8 inch LCD it touts. The camera is respectable in the lag time for taking still images without the flash. It takes about 0.48 seconds for a single image. But this speed in unearthed while using the flash.
